Non-professionals call skies all pebbles and rhinestones that attach to the surface of the tooth. But in reality, there are only a few types of such dental decorations.

Twinkles is the most expensive type of dental jewelry. They are made from precious stones, diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires. They are simple and combined. Simple are one monolithic diamond, emerald or other pebbles, combined are made of several types of materials.

For the decoration of twinkles, precious metals are used - gold, platinum and silver. Manufacturers give their products an original shape: you can choose not only a classic round diamond, but also a diamond or sapphire in the shape of a heart, a cross, an asterisk or a flower.

Skies on the teeth

Skyce (skyce) - this is a beautiful pebble with a flickering effect, made of special lead glass or crystal. Skies are usually given a round shape with many faces, which makes them visually indistinguishable from diamonds. Facets provide refraction and play of light, which gives the smile a radiance.

Skyce is completely imperceptible in the mouth. The maximum thickness of the pebbles is 2 mm, so that they are not felt in the oral cavity and do not cause the slightest discomfort. The diameter of the skies can reach 3 mm.

Rhinestones on teeth

Rhinestones for teeth are transparent products made of special glass. Straziks are available in a wide range and differ in size, shape and coating material.

Unlike diamonds, rhinestones do not look so catchy on teeth, but they still give a person charm and zest.

Tooth stickers

Stickers are the most affordable, fastest-installed and safest type of tooth jewelry, which is a thin film with a pattern applied to it. The shape, sizes and colors of the stickers are very diverse. A dentist can remove or change a sticker in minutes.

Indications and contraindications for the installation of dental decorations

The decision to decorate a smile with the help of elegant gems, skies, rhinestones or stickers does not require the presence of medical indications. But in some cases, the doctor may recommend correction of the dentition by installing decorative products to hide defects in tooth enamel: spots, crests, the effects of fluorosis or hypoplasia.

The procedure for installing jewelry on your teeth is safe, but there are still contraindications to it:

• deformation of the jaw due to fractures and dislocations;
• pathology of the bite;
• allergy to the raw materials from which the jewelry is made, and an adhesive composite;
• age up to 12 years;
• untreated caries;
• tendency to plaque and tartar;
• the presence in the oral cavity of orthopedic and orthodontic structures;
• thinned enamel, microcracks and chips on the surface of the teeth.

Skyce installation

The procedure for installing a skys on a tooth is painless and requires a minimum of time - less than half an hour. After the doctor makes sure that there are no contraindications and together with the client determines which tooth is better to install pebbles, the tooth surface is prepared. The doctor performs the sanitation of the oral cavity, removes plaque and stone from both jaw arches. If necessary, teeth whitening, remineralization or fluoridation are performed.

At the end of the preparatory phase, the surface of the selected tooth is thoroughly dried, and a special light-curing glue is applied to it, on which the skyce is attached. For maximum adhesion of the adhesive with enamel, a special UV lamp is used, thanks to which the glue particles completely harden. A special fixing composition is applied over the decoration, also hardening under the influence of a lamp.

The procedure for installing gems is more traumatic than the installation of skies. A diamond is fixed in a special niche drilled in tooth enamel or in a composite seal.

Oral care after dental implants

Decorative dental decorations look beautiful for a long time, provided that they have proper dental care. In order for them to decorate a smile for the entire period declared by the manufacturer - about 3-5 years - the following recommendations should be observed:

• Teeth should be thoroughly and regularly cleaned using a gentle cleansing paste that does not contain abrasive particles.
• You need to rinse your mouth with a special rinse after each meal.
• The decorative stones themselves must be cleaned with a special skys care product.
• The use of aggressive pastes, whitening compounds and tooth powder is prohibited. Such products will make stickers, rhinestones or skies matte and unaesthetic.
• Do not eat too hard foods and click seeds. Such food can lead to premature loss of skyce.

If necessary, remove or replace the decoration, and if it falls out, you should contact dentistry. The doctor will remove the skies with ultrasound without harming the tooth, and properly treat the tooth surface.
